This contactless platform of payment is set to launch in Pakistan to make online payments. Google Pay is marking a significant landmark in expanding Pakistan’s digital payments.
The roll out committed by Google in November 2024, according to sources, That Google will make it possible through collaborations with the leading local banks, Visa and Mastercard. Users in Pakistan can link their Bank-issued debit card and credit card to Google Pay through Google wallet app and enable contactless secure online payments to at various business places.
Initially, Google is focusing on making contactless online payments, the complete set of google wallet features including, loyalty cards and Passes for public transport will be introduced later. According to sources, around 4 to 6 notable banks are working closely with Visa and Mastercard to fulfill technical requirements. Sources also confirmed that the arrangements of Launch are started.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan, Pakistan’s online payment system is well-equipped to support this service. There are 133,000 Point of sale terminals and 99 percent of them already provide contactless online payments through mobiles.
