President Asif Ali Zardari and PM Shehbaz Sharif have urged the global community to put pressure on India to let Kashmiri people decide their future for everlasting peace in the region freely, State Radio Pakistan Said. In his speech on Kashmir Solidarity Day, which is observed today on Wednesday, Feb 5, PM Shehbaz Sharif focused attention that everlasting peace could not be obtained by putting down the genuine desires of the Kashmiri people. The Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) repeated the PM’s sayings in the speech that the latest developments in the Middle East showed that enduring disputes should not be authorized to fester.

He added The Government and Pakistani People observed Kashmir Solidarity Day annually to renew their steady support for the people of Kashmir and the lawful struggle for the realization of their right to sovereignty. The right to sovereignty is the basic principle of International Law. PM said according to the statement from his office, The right to sovereignty is the basic principle of International Law. Every year, The UN General Assembly embraces a decision that emphasizes the legal right of people to decide their destiny. In addition to this, He said Lamentably that 75 Years have passed but still the Kashmiri people can’t use their absolute rights.

Prime Minister Shehbaz stated that Occupied Kashmir, under Indian control, is one of the areas with the highest troop presence. The people of Kashmir are living in a harsh, fearful, and terrorization environment. Moreover, He said again that the Jammu and Kashmir dispute would always remain the cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy. According to Radio Pakistan, The President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari said the Kashmir Solitidary Day recalled the international community of its responsibility towards abused Kashmiri people. He added that 78 years ago, the United Nations promised the people of Kashmir to support their fundamental rights and sovereignty and now it’s time to fulfill the promises.
