2024 is the deadliest Year for Pakistan’s Security Forces of all Time

Pakistan has faced a deadliest year of its all time in 2024, In this year many lives lost with violence including Security Forces, civilians and activist alike. Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) has officially said that Pakistan has recorded 2500 deaths this year. Moreover, It has increased 66 percent from the deaths of 2023. The sudden increase in violence heavily affected Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) and Balochistan, Which has increases the fragile situation of Pakistan security.

1,612 were civilians and security forces which is over 63 percent of total 2546 deaths from violence. The CRRSS report presents a depressing situation of Pakistan’s security in 2024. As compared to, In counter-terrorism attacks 934 activists and criminals were killed. Moreover, This variation highlights the heavy casualties of civilians and security forces among the ongoing clash.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has lead a total of 59,775 operations in 2024, and in these operation 925 terrorists are killed and 383 soldiers and brave officers are martyred. On December 27, Director General (DG) of ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry stated these figures during a press conference.

Regional Impact

On average, nearly 7 people died everyday, compared to all other months of the year November is emerged as a deadliest month of this year. November is the deadliest month because of highest number of 125 attacks, 450 deaths, and 625 injuries are recorded as compared to other months of this year. The number of deaths recorded this year was marked as the 9 year high record and it was highest than the record of 2015 and 2016.

In addition to this, The report says that, “In previous 10 years data shows a downward trend of deaths and attacks from 2015 to 2020. This trend go upward from year 2021 to 2024. Moreover, the violence increased by 33 percent on average in 2021, 15 percent in 2022, 56 percent in 2023 and 66 percent in 2024.
