According to the report issued by PDMA on Saturday, it states that as rescue operations are underway in Punjab, Sialkot, Jhang, and Narowal have emerged as the three worst flood-affected areas in Punjab province. PADMA states Sialkot ranks first with 169 villages, including some urban areas, which are affected by rainstorms and floods. Around 1.773 million people have been affected, while 24 people lost their lives during the flood.
While Narowal stands second in the flood-affected areas with 908 villages affected by flood and around 180,000 people were hit by floods, four deaths were reported. In Jhang, 313 villages were affected, with no reported deaths or injuries. According to the PDMA report, approximately 4,744 villages have been affected across Punjab so far. Sialkot stands first with 1069 villages affected by floods and rainstorms.
The report also states that a total of 4,744 villages are affected, of which 2,489 are affected by Chenab, 1,458 by Ravi, 701 by the Sutlej, and 96 by the Indus River. Floods have killed around 101 people, and 8 have been injured, while more than 4.57 million people have been affected in Punjab. Moreover, D.C Lahore Syed Musa Raza has clarified that one death reported by Rescue 1122 was incorrect and will be corrected soon, and no casualties were reported in Lahore district.
Furthermore, the report claims that over 2.5 million people have been evacuated from flood-affected areas and more than 2 million animals have been shifted to a safe place. Moreover, District Administrations have set up a total of 392 relief camps for flood-affected people, where around 81,810 people are living. Moreover, 422 veterinary camps have also been set up.
