On Thursday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) fined Pakistani cricketers Shaheen Shah, Saud Shakeel, and Kamran Ghulam for misconduct in the match against South Africa at the National Stadium Karachi. In Wednesday’s match in Karachi, Shaheen blocked South Africa batsman Matthew Breetzke as he took a single, resulting in a heated exchange of words and physical contact. The International Cricket Council (ICC) said that Shaheen would be fined 25 percent of his match fee for misbehaving with the batsman from South Africa.

In the statement, The ICC said that Saud Shakeel and Kamran Ghulam would be fined 10 percent of their match fees docked for celebrating too closely with the South African batsman Temba Bavuma. South African team Captain Temba was run out on 82 runs with a total of 352-5. Saud and Kamran were found at fault for doing actions, gestures, and language that downgraded or could arouse an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during an International Match. In addition, Pakistan Team chased the highest target they have ever faced in the One-Day internationals, claiming success at 355-4 and setting up a final between Pakistan and New Zealand teams.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) said in a statement that Shaheen, Saud, and Kamran had accepted their sanctions and one demerit point was given to each of their disciplinary records. Moreover, After that match, Shaheen confessed that he intended to disrupt Breetzke’s flow. “I wanted to disturb him because we wanted wickets at that time,” said Shaheen in a mixed-zone talk with media. “When he took a single, he barged into me so I barged into him.”
But Breetzke said the argument between them was not serious. “I showed frustration for the shot I played and Shaheen thought I said something to him,” he said. “He came at me and naturally I go back at him.” He said, “They are friends and everything is good”. No formal hearings were held, Because all three players confessed to the offenses and accepted the sanctions submitted by the match referee David Boon.
