The representative informed the Chief Minister that at that time, 103 conventional patrol vehicles were consuming approximately 28,000 litres of petrol per month, which cost approximately Rs 7.42 million. The use of these new electric vehicles is expected to save approximately 4,500 litres of fuel per day, significantly reduce operating costs, and ensure zero carbon emissions. Maryam Nawaz directed that the number of separate vehicles in the Green Policing Unit be gradually increased and ordered steps to be taken to implement this initiative in a phased manner in other districts. She said that using electric vehicles would help curb costs and promote zero carbon emissions.
