Lahore Received 11 Electric Buses From China

Pakistan took a new step toward the development of Lahore city by receiving 11 electric buses from China marking a new step towards eco-friendly transport. According to officials of the Transport Department, 16 More electric buses are expected to arrive in Lahore from Karachi in a few days. In the first phase, As a part of the pilot Project 27 electric buses will be introduced. Chief Minister of Pakistan Maryam Nawaz will inaugurate the electric bus service on 19 February.

The charging stations of electric buses are installed in the Green Town Area of Lahore. The bus has a seating capacity of 60 passengers and an eco-friendly environment with modern and environmentally friendly commuting options for the city. The Transport Company responsible for the project will hand over all the electric buses for operation to the Punjab Transport Department.

Moreover, In Faisalabad and Bahawalpur, the tenders have been issued for the Electric bus services, highlighting the further expansion of the sustainable initiative across Punjab. Last year, The Government of Punjab decided to receive 300 electric buses for Lahore city. During the meeting organized by CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz, Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said to review the completion of CM Punjab’s 33 special projects. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was informed in a meeting to receive 300 eco-friendly buses for Lahore. In addition, 330 Eco-friendly buses will be introduced in different countries within the Punjab. An immense 5 hours meeting was conducted to review the Chief Minister’s special projects and enterprises.
