Pakistan succeeded from the West Indies Team in the shortest test match ever played in history in Multan, securing a presiding 127-run victory in just 177.2 overs. Both teams were bowled out twice in an exciting tournament at Multan and ended the match in only 1054 balls (around 175.4 overs). Pakistan elected to bat first and made 280 runs, with a hundred-plus partnership between Saud Shakeel and Muhammad Rizwan by maintaining the innings.

The West Indies fall on just 137 runs, Spinners of Pakistan Sajid Khan and Noman Ali devastate and take nine wickets with them. In the second inning, Pakistan added 157 runs and expanded their lead, While West Indies bowler Jomel Warrican magnificently took seven wickets. In the final round, The West Indies team was bowled out at 123 runs in just 36.3 overs, Sajid and Nauman took control and won the match.

This 127-run win for Pakistan marked a historic victory for a test series and made it the Shortest Match at its Home ground of Pakistan. In 1990, the West Indies defeated Pakistan in the Faisalabad ground with only 1080 balls (180 overs), It was the previous shortest test match in history.

Especially, The West Indies had faced the number of balls in two innings in Multan is the lowest number of balls they have ever confronted in Test Matches, where they lost all 20 wickets. Moreover, West Indies batting in Multan is now recorded as the fifth-fewest balls faced by any team in the Test Match since 1910 where all 20 wickets were lost. It also stands as the ninth-fewest overall.

The last record for the fewest balls was 450 balls ever faced in the 2000 Leeds test against England. In an amazing feat, Pakistan only needed 494 balls in the 2001 Multan Test against Bangladesh to take all 20 wickets, marking the fewest balls required for a team to take 20 wickets in a men’s Test.

In addition, Jomel Warrican also made his name in the history of West Indies cricket by losing this series. Jomel’s seven-wicket haul of 7/32 in the second innings of Pakistan broke the record held by the legends of West Indies Malcolm Marshall (5/33 in Lahore, 1986) and Andy Roberts.

Warrican ended the match with 10 wickets and became the first West Indies player to achieve a 10-wicket haul in Pakistan overcoming Robert’s previous best of 9/187 in 1975.
