Babar’s Batting Position Confirmed by Captain Mohammad Rizwan

The Pakistan team captain Mohammad Rizwan has confirmed the batting position of star performer Babar Azam in the Champions Trophy 2025 which will begin today. The first match will be at the National Stadium Karachi between Pakistan and New Zealand. In a recent Tri-Series, Babar was promoted to open with Fakhar Zaman, who has been the central component of the team at position 3. His role and game in his new position were disappointing as he was dismissed at 10,23 and 29. Their dismissal sparks discussions among former players about sending him back to his old position where he performed before.

In the pre-tournament press conference, Captain Mohammad Rizwan said Babar Azam would continue playing in his new position. Rizwan Said, “It’s not that we don’t have options; we do have. But if you look at the conditions, Babar is the right man to open.” Rizwan said, “We are not sure about reports of Babar not opening the batting. We want genuine openers, but given the team’s current needs, we thought Babar should open as he is a technically strong batter. He is our opener.”

In addition, He talked about Haris Rauf’s availability, that Haris will play the first match of the Champions Trophy 2025 against New Zealand. He added Haris bowled 80% yesterday and he will bowled 100 percent in the game. He is completely fit now. For the unfamiliar, The Hosts and the defending champions will start their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on 19 February with a game against New Zealand.

Then They will Travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the match against India on 23 February. India is the arch-rival of Pakistan and that will be the much-awaited of the whole ICC event.  The Match will be played at the Dubai International Stadium on 23 Feb. On 27 February, Pakistan will return home to face Bangladesh at Rawalpindi Stadium.
