In a post on X, the former said that US President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked on a phone call on Monday. This was the first talk of these two leaders since Trump’s inauguration last week. According to the White House, The Indian PM and the US President talked about the plans for Indian Prime Minister Modi to visit the US.
Trump focused on the importance of moving toward fair two-sided trading relationships with Modi and called on New Delhi to increase its acquisition of US-made Defense tools. In a Post Modi said, “We are committed to a mutually beneficial and trusted partnership”. Modi Congratulated his dear friend Trump on his second term as a US president.

The Prime Minister of India said, “We will work jointly for the welfare of our people and towards global peace, prosperity, and security.” Moreover, India is the largest trading partner of the United States, and their two-way trading exceeded $118 billion in 2023-24, In which India posted a trade surplus of $32bn.
Officials said that US Diplomats and Indians are trying to arrange a meeting between the two leaders as early as next month. India is a strategic partner of the United States in its attempt to counter China. Moreover, India wants to strengthen Trade relationships with the US to make it easier for its citizens to get skilled worker visas.
